Our Story

Owner and sushi chef, Yuki Takeoda, first started his sushi making career in 1998. After years working abroad in other restaurants, Yuki moved to Nelson and eventually came up with the concept for his own restaurant.

At Wafu Bistro guests experience an authentic Sushi dining experience where all of the food is freshly prepared to order, by Yuki, in full view.

There exist the difference of professionally made Sushi for YOU, not for anonymous customer.

The menu consists mainly of raw fish sushi, sashimi, and nigiri that can be ordered piece by piece or in assorted plates and platters. Starters and hot items such as miso soup, chawan-mushi, and tempura fish compliment the main dishes.
